The Student Center is youth driven and youth led. The SGC is made up of 15 student leaders who
help devise and steer the programs and activities at the SC as well as act as the SC’s social entrepreneurs and philanthropists,
support Newton students through fundraising, community service projects and advocacy. Each council member
co-leads at least one project with staff and is trained as a mentor to a younger Newton student in the Spring.

Interested in joining?
Students may self nominate or be nominated by school staff, coaches, parents, etc.
Nominations require 3 references or recommendations. SCG members generally meet once weekly for
1 hour and attend select SC activities or events. Contact Linda Valenti at 617-244-1404 x372
